Curve Fitting

2020-2023, Sheet steel, wood, effect foils, magnets, each H 100 x W 100 x D 5 cm

Series of 7 wall sculptures which show a simplified representation of a bar chart.
The diagram bars of the sculpture can be moved/adjusted individually by hand.

Through these adjustable diagram bars, the sculpture allows to visualize a wide variety of data (and also to interpret, falsify, or manipulate them accordingly).

Curve Fitting No. 07 is framed by a carnival lighting.
H 114 x W 114 x D 12 cm

The term “curve fitting” refers to the process of constructing a curve, or mathematical function, that has the best fit to a series of data points, possibly subject to constraints.
